The Shelby's in Oz!

This is our ocean view from our apartment in Caloundra. Mom and dad were definitely impressed. We quickly brought them back to reality with the accommodation in Brisbane. The only good thing about it was that it was next to Albion Park – home of Australia’s best greyhound racing.

In the weekly fine session, the sergeant tried to make my dad stand up and sing “Oklahoma” in front of the entire Rotary club (about 50 people). Luckily for all of us, we got mom to fill in and I think she surprised the Sergeant with her effort. For once, he was speechless. They later announced that the fine session earned an extra $40, because of mom’s singing. Good on ya, mom.

    Just the post I've been looking for everyday since last Sunday! =) It was so good to talk to you both!!! When we hear your voices, it seems to be then that we remember how far away you really are and how long it's been since we've gotten to spend time with you. =( Anyway, I'm loving these pictures. What a great time for all of you! I'm just in disbelief and quite jealous that you got to see my Matthew filming with none other than the best romantic comedian, Kate!!! =) In all seriousness, the pictures were really fun to see. I'm thrilled you all were able to have the family time!!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing the albums worth of accumulated pictures when you return to the states!!! =)Love ya!

    Well done Bill & Cristen, at last we have some more news & photos. At least you have shown your Mum & Dad in Australia to their friends in USA. It is true your mother did surprise all the members with her fine voice & presentation of 'Oklahoma' without any earlier warning that she may be asked.
    I wish all Bill & Cristen's friends in USA a happy & safe Xmas 2006.
