How do I keep losing her shoes?

Missing:

The right bootie seen in this picture.

Somehow we managed to misplace one of Kate's shoes over the Christmas holiday.  They were her go-to shoe.  She even napped in them, seen here:

Apparently she had a vendetta against the right one.

Now I'm stuck with a dilemma - do I buy another pair (~$30) for the next two months of cold weather? What if the right one magically appears?  

Such a serious and horrible issue.  

I kid, I kid.

But seriously, have you seen the other boot??????
